The Split Asian Handicap, which can also be referred to as Quarter Goal Asian Handicap, is definitely a key element to learn. When betting under this format, it allows you to divide your stake across two handicaps. For example, if you’re betting on a team on a -0.5 and -1, this means if your team wins 2-0 you win and if they win 1-0 you win half of the bet and the other half of your stake is refunded.

Meanwhile, if your team loses or draws you lose.

This explanation from Betfair offers further clarity on this type of betting. “When a handicap is made up of two parts, like 0 & -0.5 , or +1.5 & +2.0 , it means that the bet is split 50/50 between the two handicaps. These are often referred to as -1/4 (-0.25) or +1 ¾ (+1.75) goals handicaps (examples above). So if you back Chelsea +1.0 & +1.5 (also +1 ¼ or +1.25) with £100, you are effectively betting £50 on Chelsea +1.0 and £50 on Chelsea + 1.5,” it states.

Allowing you to give one team a head start or a handicap to get some better odds, this method is definitely worthwhile becoming familiar with, even if it takes some time to learn.
